It's fall, and with the cooler weather (relatively anyway), CTD is bringing you a ton of events—both virtual and in-person! A rundown of our calendar is below.

Plus, if you haven't already, check out our 2023 Legislative Report.

2023 Legislative Report

The 88th Texas Legislature slept on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to invest in Texans with
disabilities. But CTD and our partners made our own opportunities. Read our full Legislative Report for details about our accomplishments and major efforts on attendant wages, voting, student safety, consumer protections in healthcare, and much more.

Coming up, at CTD

Relaunch of Raise Your Voice!

The 88th Texas Legislature has adjourned, but a special session is coming up, and interim advocacy is already underway. CTD's Raise Your Voice! (RYV) virtual round-tables have resumed and will take place at 2 pm CT every other Monday into December.

CTD’s interactive RYV events are designed to provide a functional understanding of our state’s legislative process while connecting emerging and seasoned advocates with each other. In addition, these conversations give CTD insight into your needs and concerns, which helps to strengthen our advocacy work. On each call, our advocacy team will give an update on major policy developments, then we'll hold breakout discussions to gather your input and concerns or prepare to take an action.

Our next call is Monday, October 2nd, on criminal justice issues, including deadly heat in Texas prisons and ensuring access to educational opportunities for inmates with disabilities. The following session on Monday, October 16th, the rollout of the attendant wage increase will be on the agenda.

Check out more dates, topics, and details, and register (it's free)!
